I run fermentation workshops in North East London on various days. The workshop is for 3 hours and is for a maximum of 4 people. On arrival, participants are offered a herbal tea. I have a selection of green teas and herbal mixtures, or fresh mint tea from my garden during warm months.
Then I talk about the beneficial bacteria, fermented foods and beverages, pro-biotics and pre-biotics, I cover some history of ferments, health benefits of gut microbiome and other related and fascinating things.

During this talk I offer participants the opportunity to try various fermented foods that I have brewing at that moment. Usually, I have available several types of sauerkraut, kimchi, fermented carrots, fermented salsa, sourdough bread, several flavours of kombucha, milk kefir, water kefir, master tonic, scraps vinegar. I always keep experimenting so there are often some other tasty things to try.
Finally, participants learn how to make their own sauerkraut, kimchee and Moroccan fermented lemons. I ask everyone to bring their own recycled jars so they can take home their ferments. In the end everyone leaves the workshop with a tummy full of beneficial bacteria, in a good mood, and with jars of their own produce to ferment at home.
